MELBOURNE, FL. (THECOUNT) — Shannon Lee Daniels, of Cary, NC, has been identified as the victim killed in a crash involving his motorcycle and a vehicle on Interstate 95 Tuesday, according to state troopers.

Daniels, 46, was operating a Honda motorcycle when he collided with the rear of a Nissan Altima driven by Enid Rosa, 20 of Kissimmee, on the I-95 near Melbourne on Tuesday afternoon around 2 p.m.

The crash occurred around southbound mile marker 182, which is between West Eau Gallie Boulevard and West New Haven Avenue.

A Florida Highway Patrol crash report stated Rosa was driving in the highway’s center lane, with Daniels following behind her when she slowed in an area of construction for a driver who was merging into their lane due to a left-lane closure, reports FloridaToday.

Daniels’ motorcycle struck Rosa’s vehicle and continued moving into a construction area, where the bike struck a stationary construction truck.

Daniels was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

State troopers are investigating the crash, according to the report.
