Multiple NAS Pensacola ‘Saudi Nationals’ Detained After Seen ‘Filming’ Deadly Attack

PENSACOLA, FL. (THECOUNT) — In an alarming revelation, a total of six Saudi nationals were detained for questioning near the scene of the Friday shooting at NAS Pensacola, including at least three – who were observed filming the entire incident – this according to a source familiar with the initial stages of the investigation.

Saudi nationals were detained for questioning, including some seen filming the attack, confirmed NYTimes on Saturday.

It was not known whether the six Saudis detained were students in the classroom building, and there was no immediate indication that those filming the incident were connected to the gunman, the person said.

Although officials have not confirmed the name of the suspect involved in a deadly shooting at a Pensacola base early Friday, several social media reports are identifying him Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani. We were unable to independently confirm the name of the shooter.

Officials did say that the Saudi student used a handgun in the commission of the shooting that so far has taken four lives.

Officials said in an afternoon presser, the suspect in the Friday morning shooting was an aviation student from Saudi Arabia.

Officials have stopped short of calling the attack terrorism.

The shooter reportedly opened fire inside a classroom in an attack that left at least four people dead and multiple wounded.

Suspect has not been officially identified by name.

No further information was immediately made available.
