LAS VEGAS, NV. (THECOUNT) — All lanes of northbound lanes of Interstate 15 in central Las Vegas have shuttered after a major crash occurred Tuesday morning involving a wrong way driver, reports say.
The rush-hour closure comes just a week after another wrong way closed I-15 Northbound.
The current closure is expected to last 6-8 hours as police investigate.
The crash involves at least one fatality after a vehicle struck a big rig head-on Tuesday morning.
Dana Wagner, of KSNV, says the the Interstate could be closed for the “bulk of the morning,” as police try to determine a cause of the deadly collision.
Traffic cams showed a long line of vehicle exited the highly travelled highway at Charleston Blvd.
Drunk driving is suspected in the fatal crash, said Wagner.
