Daytona PD Release Bodycam Footage In Shooting Death Of Jerric Harris [Graphic]

DAYTONA BEACH, FL. (THECOUNT) — Jerric Harris has been identified as the victim killed in a police-involved shooting on Monday, according to reports.

Daytona Beach police say, Harris, 21, was killed by police Monday after Harris fatally shot 21-year-old Jamauri Burks following a verbal altercation.

The nature of the argument remains unclear. Neither man had a criminal history.

Police say, Harris confronted and shot Burks, hitting him in the neck and torso.

Burks was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

Officials says Harris was watching officers investigate the scene but was then pointed out by a witness when he bolted from the scene, reports HeraldStandard.

At some point, police say Harris opened fire on pursuing officers, who returned fire striking him several times.

Harris was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries.

Some Facebook users doubted the Dayton Beach Police official accounting of the deadly incident.

Another disgraceful act by the crooked Daytona police. They are the crookedest cops I’ve ever seen in my life. They literally killed this young man for no reason. And not only did they shoot him and he was unarmed, They emptied the clip in him smfh. As much as I would like to believe this police officer will lose their job unfortunately we know Daytona police cover up for each other. I’ve had first-hand experience with them and it was not good and I was just an innocent bystander. May you RIP Jerric Harris.
