NC Woman Chante Alexander ID’d As Victim Shot Dead My Mother ‘Elvira’ On TG Night In Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC. (THECOUNT) — Chante Lavarche Alexander has been identified as the victim found fatally shot in a domestic incident in east Charlotte on Thanksgiving night, according to reports. Her mother, 56-year-old Elvira Elizabeth Alexander, was taken into custody over the death.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Chante Lavarche Alexander, 37, was killed in an incident occurring on Krupa Court around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Officers responded to Krupa Court on calls of an assault with a deadly weapon in progress. When they arrived, Chante Lavarche Alexander was discovered suffering from at least one gunshot wound in an apartment she shared with her mother.

Chante Lavarche Alexander was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

Police say responding officers detained Elvira Elizabeth Alexander at the residence as a “person of interest”, and that no additional suspects are being sought at this time.

The person of interest was later revealed to be the victim’s own mother, was charged for the murder of her daughter as well as possession of a stolen firearm, reports WBTV.

This remains an ongoing, active investigation.
