SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — Sophie Gourley has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash in Sullivan County, Tennessee Wednesday night, according to reports.
Gourley, 18, died after being involved a single-vehicle crash Wednesday night near Bristol, according to officials with Tennessee Highway Patrol.
THP reports, three people occupied a Chrysler Mini Cooper, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway near the intersection of Beidleman Creek Road and Hickory Tree Road around 8 p.m. Wednesday, in Sullivan County.
The vehicle then struck a grouping of trees before rolling over multiple times. It came to a rest after again striking a tree.
Gourley wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, reports WJHL.
Two passengers suffered unknown injuries in the violent crash and were transported to area hospitals, according to the FHP report.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
