BATON ROUGE, LA. (THECOUNT) — Matthew J Miller, of Zachary, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Sunday crash near Mid City, according to reports.

Miller, 27, was operating a pickup truck on N. 22nd Street, near Magnolia Cemetery in Baton Rouge, when the fatal crash occurred on Sunday around 9:30 p.m.

According to Baton Rouge police, Miller was traveling westbound on North Street when officials believe he ran a red light at the intersection of N. 22nd Street.

Investigators say Miller was then struck head on by a driver in a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado. Miller was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene, reports TheAdvocate.

The other driver was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were said to be non-life threatening.

The crash remains under investigation.
