LAUREL, DE. (THECOUNT) — Bryan Dukes of Easton, MD, has been identified as the victim in a fatal industrial accident involving downed power lines Friday in Laurel, Delaware, according to Saturday morning reports.
Dukes, 30, was killed after a dump truck he was operating made contact with power lines near 31000 Jestice Farm Road in Laurel on Saturday around 3:30 p.m.
Troopers say they responded to Jestice Farm Road on reports of an industrial accident. Upon arrival, it was learned that a dump truck had struck a power line while unloading.
After striking the power line, the power line caught fire and fell to the ground. Dukes exited the vehicle and at some point touched the back of his truck and was electrocuted, reports WGMD.
Dukes was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to social media, Dukes worked at Nagel Farm Service. He attended Colonel Richardson High School. He is survived by his three young children and his wife, Emily.
