ODESSA, TX. (THECOUNT) — Brandon Swinney, of Odessa, Texas, has been identified as the victim killed in an overnight shooting in Northwest Odessa, according to local reports.
The Odessa Police Department is investigating a shooting that left 42-year-old Swinney dead Thursday night.
According to the Odessa Police Department, officers responded around 9 p.m. Thursday night to 1710 Dotsy Ave on reports of shots fired. When they arrived, Swinney was found suffering from at least one fatal gunshot wound.

A preliminary investigation revealed Swinney had just returned to his residence and exited his vehicle before being shot by an unknown subject, reports CBS7.
The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction before officers arrived.
There were no reports of any other injuries, according to the OPD.
At this time, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
