Shooting Reported Inside Jackson MS Merit Health Central Monday Evening

JACKSON, MS. (THECOUNT) — A shooting occurred Monday evening inside Merit Health Central in Jackson, according to officials.

Jackson police chief James Davis confirms that at least one shot was fired inside of the hospital.

It is unclear at this time if anyone was hit by the bullet, reports WJTV.

JPD says it was called to assist.

Workers inside tell us that they were on lockdown before officers cleared the scene.
