LAFAYETTE — Lafayette High School, in Lafayette, LA, is currently under lockdown, reports KATC Friday morning.

A spokesperson with Lafayette police says the was placed on lockdown at 6:41 am due to a possible threat at the school.

The school is located at, 3000 W Congress St, Lafayette, LA.

John Mowell with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s department tells KATC the school received a verbal threat this morning causing the lockdown to be put in place. A number of law enforcement agencies are responding to the school to investigate.
