MENIFEE, CA. (THECOUNT) — Students and staffers at Mt. San Jacinto College were sheltering in place with the campus on lockdown Wednesday morning after a man entered the student cafeteria, pointed a gun, and then walked out, authorities said.
No shots were reported fired in the incident around 9:30 a.m. on the campus at 1499 N. State St. in San Jacinto, school spokeswoman Karin Marriott said.
Riverside County sheriff’s deputies were on the campus searching for the suspect and also sealing off streets around it, said Deputy Robyn Flores, a spokeswoman for the agency.
“We are asking people to stay out of the area and let deputies do what they need to do,” Flores said. “There were no shots fired that we are aware of, and no reports of injuries,” reports PE.
