CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY. (THECOUNT) — John Hale of Almo, Kentucky, has been identified as the suspect shot dead by law enforcement officers following an altercation, according to Kentucky State Police.

Hale, 42, was killed in a police-involved shooting after Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies and a Murray Police officer responded to a suspicious person call, says KSP on Sunday.

KSP says an altercation “of some kind” ensued causing officers to open fire fatally striking Hale.

The KSP Critical Incident Response Team is waiting for the results of an autopsy that was done in Madisonville, Ky Sunday morning, reports WPSD.

KSP says they are not going to release the names of the officers involved at this time because of the ongoing investigation.
