WINNIPEG, CAN. (THECOUNT) — Winnipeg man, Daniel Jensen, has been identified by as the man arrested and charged in connection with a stabbing of a 3-year-old boy, according to reports.

Jensen, 33, was arrested Wednesday after a young boy was found with serious upper body lacerations. The boy was listed in ‘grave condition,’ as of Thursday morning.

The boy was transported to an area hospital where he remained as of Thursday.

Police said the suspect knew the boy’s family, and had previously been in a relationship with the boy’s mother. The mother, who was not identified, was allegedly assaulted before child was attacked.

The incident occurred on Pritchard Avenue at around 2:35 a.m. Wednesday morning, reports Winnipeg.

Jensen has been charged with attempted murder, assault cause bodily harm as well as charges related to breaching court conditions and a probation order.
