COLUMBUS, OH. (THECOUNT) — An off-duty Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputy suffered gunshot injuries to his face after an apparent road rage shooting incident in north Columbus Friday night, according to reports.
Columbus police say they responded to a call of shots fired just after 11 p.m. to the intersection of E. North Broadway and Eisenhower Road.
When they arrived, they discovered the off-duty off suffering from gunshot injuries to his face.
The officer who was shot was driving home after getting his dog groomed when he was shot in the right cheek.
He was rushed to a area hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Authorities say, the suspect allegedly got mad about his driving and fired shots into the deputy’s personal vehicle striking his face, reports 10TV.
The driver then fled the scene.
