EDEN TOWNSHIP, OH. (THECOUNT) — Charles Dyer, of Bloomville, Ohio has been identified as the victim killed in a head-on motorcycle crash in Seneca County Friday night, according to reports.
Dyer, 48, was operating a motorcycle on State Route 231 near CR-90 in Sycamore, Eden Township, south of Tiffin, around 7:45 p.m. Friday, when he was involved in a head-on collision with a 61-year-old man from Sycamore who was operating a Chevy Trailblazer SUV.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Chevy driver was traveling southbound when he attempted to pass a Ford F-150 pulling a trailer. The Chevy then pulled into the path of Dyer’s motorcycle head-on.
Dyer was ejected from his bike during the violent collision.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Dyer was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, reports ABC13.
The driver of the SUV, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was airlifted to a hospital in Toledo, treated, and released. The two people in the Ford F-150 were not hurt.
