ABINGTON, MA. (THECOUNT) — The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office identified the victims Monday evening as the Zaccardi family.
Victims include 11-year-old Alexis Zaccardi, 9-year-old twins Nathaniel and Kathryn Zaccardi, 40-year-old Deidre Zaccardi and 43-year-old Joseph Zaccardi.
A letter sent to parents by Abington Public Schools Superintendent Peter Schafer just after 11 a.m. identified the victims as the Zaccardi family. He confirmed that all three children attended schools in town and that grief counselors would be made available for students, reports PatriotLedger Tuesday morning.
The horrifying murders unfolded after five people, including three children, were found dead inside a condo in Abington, Massachusetts, on Monday morning, according to reports
The disturbing incident is playing out at 135 Centre Avenue, in Abington, MA, Monday morning.
According to Abington, a family member of the dead arrived at the Abington Square condos to pick up one of the children for school found the victims.
All of the dead appeared to have suffered gunshot injuries.
Police sources said they believe there is no threat to the public at this time.
