ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Travis Gilmore, of 700 Truman Ave, has been identified as the Pensacola pedestrian fatally struck early Sunday morning, according to reports.

Gilmore, 37, was killed after being struck by a vehicle near his home around 3 a.m. Sunday morning near North W Street & Lenox Pkwy, in Brent, Florida.

A report from the Florida Highway Patrol says Gilmore walked onto North W Street and was hit by a 19-year-old Honda Civic driver, reports WKRG.

It is unclear if Gilmore died at the scene or was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Honda remained at the scene, however, it is unclear if anyone was cited or if any charges are pending.

No further information was released on the deadly incident.

The collision remains under investigation.
