PEACH SPRINGS, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Officials say they are trying to locate the body of a man who climbed over a safety barrier at the Grand Canyon Skywalk, in Peach Springs, AZ, and apparently jumped to his death.
They say the 28-year-old man was visiting the viewpoint when suddenly he leapt over into a restricted zone and jumped to his death around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The popular tourist spot is located on the Hualapai reservation outside Grand Canyon National Park.
A Grand Canyon West spokesman says a body recovery effort began Sunday morning, reports ABC13.
Skywalk opened in 2007. It’s a horseshoe-shaped glass walkway that juts about 70 feet over the canyon.
Signs warn tourists not to venture too close to the edge as a dramatic vertical drop from the Skywalk.
According to wikipedia, the horseshoe-shaped bridge, which is overlooking the Colorado River, is made of glass and allows visitors to walk 4,000 ft above the canyon floor.
It is unknown how far the man fell.
It is unknown why the man jumped.
