SOUTH BRISTOL, ME. (THECOUNT) — Austin Eugley has been identified as the victim in a fatal ME-129 crash in South Bristol Thursday night, according to reports.
Eugley, 21, was killed in a crash Thursday night and officials say they are still looking for his passenger who was “missing” from the ME-129 crash scene as of Friday.
A passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash was later identified as Adrian Phaenephom. Phaenephom, 19, reportedly fled the crash scene for unknown reasons. Police say he may be injured. He had not been located as of Friday morning.
According to reports, Eugley was operating a vehicle approaching a curve around 9:30 p.m, when the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. The vehicle then entered a culvert causing it to roll over and collide with a substantial tree, officials with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
Eugley was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Four other people, between the ages of 18 and 20, were in the car at the time of the crash, reports WMTW.
Three other passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Deputies said speed is a factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with possible information on the case should contact police immediately at 911.
