AB ‘Rejects’ $2M+ Settlement Offer To End Trainer’s Sex Assault Lawsuit

MIAMI GARDENS, FL. (THECOUNT) — Antonio Brown has reportedly rejected a $2 million-plus settlement offer from his former trainer, Britney Taylor, who said that the NFL All-Pro wide receiver sexually assaulted her on a series of occasions, TotalProSports reported on Sunday.

ESPN Jeff Darlington confirmed the rejection via Twitter:

@JeffDarlington – Antonio Brown entered into settlement discussions in April, which included mediation in May, culminating in a deadline last Sunday night to sign a monetary agreement that would end the sexual assault claims against him. He chose not to sign it.

According to Darlington, Brown began settlement discussions with Britney Taylor as early as April and even had a mediation in May.

Brown declined to sign the agreement by last Sunday’s deadline, which led to Tuesdays’ federal lawsuit being filed.

The lawsuit says Brown sexually assaulted Taylor twice during training sessions in June 2017, with the first incident claiming he kissed her without consent and exposed himself.

Later that month, Brown “began masturbating near her without her knowledge and ejaculated on her back” which led to him bragging about it in emails.

The final time came almost a year later where she says Brown “forced her down onto a bed, pushed her face into the mattress, and forcibly raped her.” Taylor tried to resist him, according to the lawsuit, screaming and shouting “no” and “stop” repeatedly. Brown allegedly refused.

Meanwhile AB has traveling to his hometown of Miami but whether he touches a football during game play at the Miami Gardens Hard Rock Stadium tomorrow – is yet to be seen.

NFL Network host Mike Giardi confirmed that Brown “joined his new teammates” for their game in Miami against the Dolphins on Sunday.

Giardi, of NFL Network, tweeted the news at 12:12 p.m. on Saturday.

But as profootballtalk noted on Saturday, the move to Miami doesn’t mean the controversial player is definitely playing, however. Every team deactivates seven members of its active roster every week.

There’s also a chance that Brown will be on the active roster and simply not play, like Malcolm Butler in Super Bowl LII, reports profootballtalk.

Brown has participated in practice all week, and as explained on NBC’s Football Night in America, whether he actually plays depends on whether and to what extent he learns the playbook and acclimates to the offense. And has nothing to do with a recent civil suit filed against him for sexual assault.

The NFL said it will not place Brown on the commissioner’s exempt list since there is no criminal investigation pending.

There could be a limited package of plays. He could be a decoy. Or he could be fully immersed.

On Friday, coach Bill Belichick declined to delve into those details. Why would he? The uncertainty could help the Patriots win the game by, you know, 50 points instead of 30.

What do you think? To play or not to play, that is the question! Comment below and share this post with family and friends on social media!
