RAYTOWN, MO. (THECOUNT) — A Kansas City, Missouri Police Officer was shot early Saturday morning.
Police say the officer was patrolling near a shopping center when he heard multiple gunshots and was forced to take cover.
The shooting occurred at 1 a.m. Saturday morning in the area of East 63rd Street & Blue Ridge Boulevard in Raytown, MO.
The officer later realized he had been shot in the chest, however, the bullet did not penetrate his vest.
The officer is listed in fair condition, reports KMBC.
There’s no suspect information at this time.
