Major Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes PCH Both Directions In Pacific Palisades Tuesday Morning

LOS ANGELES, CA. (THECOUNT) — A multi-vehicle collision has occurred on the Pacific Coast Highway leaving all lanes closed on the iconic thoroughfare on Tuesday morning.

A major stretch of PCH on the Pacific Palisades area was shuttered Tuesday morning causing a major traffic backup in the area.

The crash was reported about 8 a.m. on PCH between Chautauqua Boulevard and Temescal Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol’s incident log. The area is right by Will Rogers State Beach, reports KTLA.

At least four vehicles appeared to be involved in the violent wreck, including a box truck, Sky5 video showed. All had front-end damage, and one car was totaled.

Officials did not immediately provide any information about any injuries.

All southbound lanes have been shut down near the crash site, while motorists on the northbound side were able to get around the scene by driving on the shoulder, according to the aerial footage.

Traffic was backed up for miles in the area amid the rush-hour morning commute.

It was unclear when the lanes would reopen.
