SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ,. (THECOUNT) — The South Plainfield Labor Day parade scheduled for today has been canceled due to a security concern, police say.

A source with New Jersey’s Homeland Security said “several explosives,” were found on a property near the parade route.

They say one man is in police custody.

Gov. Phil Murphy and his wife, Tammy Murphy were scheduled to be at the parade. The parade was supposed to kick off at 10 a.m., reports NewJersey.News.

Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating.

This year was supposed to be the 62nd annual parade.
