ARLINGTON, Texas (THECOUNT) — A toxicology report has determined that 27-year-old Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs died in Texas of an accidental overdose from a mix of alcohol, fentanyl and oxycodone last month.
Los Angeles Angels confirmed the pitcher died at age 27 in Texas.
On the afternoon of July 1, Skaggs was found dead in his hotel room in the Dallas area suburb of Southlake.
At the time, police ruled out both foul play and suicide. The Angels were in Dallas at the time for a three-game series against the Rangers, reports CBSLosAngeles.
No other information was immediately provided.
