PROSPERITY, PA. (THECOUNT) — Tanner McFarland, of Washington, Pennsylvania, has been identified as the victim in a mining accident in Prosperity Thursday night.
McFarland, 25, was working at the Consol Energy Enlow Fork Mine in Washington County when the fatal accident occurred Thursday night.
The Washington County Coroner’s Office has identified the young father and husband as the victim of a long wall collapse at the mine. The wall fell on top of McFarland, crushing him.
According to the coroner’s office, McFarland was transported from the scene of the accident, on Dry Run Road, and died Thursday night at an area hospital.
State police are investigating his death, reports Pittsburgh.cbslocal.
