NASHVILLE, TN. (THECOUNT) — Shots rang out during a Nashville event dubbed “HennyFest,” on Saturday night causing panic among the thousands in attendance.
A massive group of people were gathered Saturday night at Hadley Park in Nashville for the “unauthorized’ outdoor event when someone opened fire injuring at least two individuals, according to police.
Nashville police said no one had a permit and the crowd did not have permission to be at the park.
Despite that, the event went on for about five hours.
Around 8:15 p.m., police rushed to the park on a report of shots fired.
Officers said at least 2,000 people attended the illegal event.
Two people with gunshot wounds were found in a parking lot on 28th Avenue North. A man and a woman were taken to a hospital and are expected to be OK, reports NewsChannel5.
HennyFest may have been over when the shooting happened, according to a Twitter account that “did a lot of advertising” for the event.
Police said the people injured in the shooting will not be charged with trespassing.
