KNOXVILLE, TN. (THECOUNT) — Sophomore Knoxville Volunteers cornerback Bryce Thompson has been arrested Saturday night and charged with domestic assault after threatening to “Shoot up the school,” according to Sunday reports.

Thompson was arrested and released from jail overnight, following an altercation with a female around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Thompson and the unidentified woman, were arguing at the Stokely Hall Dorms on campus when he was overheard threatening her, and a witness saying he threatened to, “Shoot up the school,” reports WATE.

The responding officer also says damage to the building was seen, with a gate “ripped from its hinges,” according to the officer.

In 2018, Thompson made news just before National Signing Day when he announced he wouldn’t be signing with his hometown South Carolina Gamecocks.
