ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — A student at Peek’s Chapel Elementary School, in Conyers, Georgia, was shot on-campus by a fellow student Friday, according to reports.
The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of shots fired at the elementary school, located at, 2800 Avalon Pkwy SW #6396, in Conyers, GA.
When they arrived on-scene, police found a 12-year-old boy suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
EMS were summoned and rushed the victim code-3 to an area hospital where his condition was unknown Saturday morning.
The shooter, also 12, was taken into custody.
Deputies have detained and charged the unidentified juvenile in connection to the shooting, reports Fox5Atlanta.
Police have not released the identities of anyone involved.
The investigation is ongoing.
