VT ADA Traffic Control Flagger Bruce Devenger ID’d As Victim In Friday Fatal Richmond Crash

RICHMOND, VT. (THECOUNT) — Bruce Devenger, a flagger with ADA Traffic Control, has been identified as the victim in a pickup truck crash involving another vehicle on Friday morning.

Devenger, 48, was killed Friday around 7:00 a.m., when for unknown reasons, the pickup he was operating drifted off southbound I-89 into a culvert.

The Dodge Ram the went airborne into northbound lanes and collided with a second vehicle.

Devenger was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

A passenger in Devenger’s Dodge Ram, Michael O’Neil, 72, of Sheffield at UVMMC with serious injuries, reports MyChamplainValley.

The crash brought traffic in both directions of I-89 to a stand still and caused delays late into the morning.

Two other people suffered minor injuries about two hours after the fatal crash.

Vermont State Police say cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Good Afternoon.

As many of you may know, we were notified this morning of a traffic accident involving two of our long time employees.

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of long time employee and Crew Member Bruce Devenger. Bruce has been a valued member of our team for many years and will be missed dearly by all who knew and worked with him.

Please respect the family’s privacy and keep Bruce’s family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time.

We will announce details regarding the memorial services as soon as they are available.
