A Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Department officer responded to a call of a possible domestic dispute at a hotel in Midvale.

Upon arrival at the hotel, police located a pair of injured senior citizens. Cockrell had already fled the scene.

According to the statement, the parents told police that their daughter “went crazy” on them beating and striking the couple while inside the hotel where they reside.

Cockrell repeatedly struck her mother with her own cane after physically removing it from her possession. She then reportedly used her mother’s oxygen tanks to also strike the elderly woman.

Cockrell’s father attempted to intervene in the brutal beating and that’s when she unleashed her anger on him, hitting him with closed fist, open hands, a cane and mother’s oxygen tanks.

Then she doused both of her parents in laundry detergent as they lay injured on the floor. She also issued threats shouting she wanted to “kill them,” the probable cause statement reports.

The report says her father had lacerations and bruising on his arms. It did not mention her mother’s condition. Both victims are over the age of 65, reports FOX13Now.

Cockrell is being held in Salt Lake County Jail.
