PORTLAND, OR. (THECOUNT) — Carl Stanley Ross Sr., has been identified as the man found dead in a new rhino exhibit that is under construction at the Oregon Zoo, Portland Police officials said on Monday.

Officers were called out to the site shortly before 10 a.m. on reports of a deceased male in a construction area for the new rhinoceros habitat located on the zoo’s property.

Ross, 62, had been listed as missing as of August 10, two days before he was found deceased.

His family members have been notified of his death, reports KATU.

There were no animals in the habitat at the time of the incident, investigators said.

A cause of death was not provided.

There was a concert held at the zoo the night Ross was reported missing, it is unknown if Ross attended the event.

The zoo is located at, 4001 SW Canyon Rd, in Portland, OR.

Anyone with possible information on Ross or the the events leading up to the incident should call police at 911.
