GARDEN GROVE, CA. (THECOUNT) — The suspect in a series of fatal Orange County, California, stabbings Wednesday night, has been identified as 33-year-old Zachary Castaneda, police confirmed Thursday.

Authorities on Thursday were still trying to contact the families of the victims and piece together a motive for the attacks, reports KTLA.

We can now confirm 3 people are dead in Orange County, California as police investigate a series of stabbings, including one at an apartment complex in Garden Grove and another at a Santa Ana 7-Eleven on Wednesday.

Officials indicated the stabbings may be related.

Information on the victims was not immediately made available, but one body appeared to be lying on the ground at one scene and paramedics were seen performing CPR on a different man at the 7-Eleven, reports KABC7.

One person was seen handcuffed and talking to officers near the 7-Eleven but it was not known if he was considered a suspect.

News helicopters showed a large police presence descending on the complex, located in the 12000 block of Jentges Avenue.

Garden Grove police were also investigating a separate stabbing that left a 62-year-old woman dead in her apartment. The victim’s son is a person of interest in the case.

It’s unknown whether the stabbings are connected.
