HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC. (THECOUNT) — Ciara Eiriz of Pittsburg, PA, has been identified as the jet skier killed in a collision near Hilton Head Island, SC on Tuesday afternoon.
Eiriz, 20, was operating a jet ski when it was involved in a collision with another watercraft at about 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
Eiriz was pronounced dead by the coroner on Pinckney Island.
Investigators said two jet skis collided in the water between Pinckney Island and Hilton Head Island, reports WTAE.
Reports show one other person was involved, but authorities did not include details about that person’s condition.
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources investigated the incident.
