GILROY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Santino William Legan has been identified as the gunman who opened fire and killed three people Sunday night at the Gilroy Garlic Festival, including a 6-year-old boy according to a media report.

Legan, 19, allegedly opened fire with an assault-type rifle and wounded 12 other people before police shot and killed him, according to CBS.

ORIGINAL INFORMATION: Police and emergency personnel are responding to reports of a shooting early evening involving multiple victims at the Gilroy Garlic Festival, in Gilroy, CA.

Ambulance crews were told 11 people were down in an active shooter incident at Gilroy’s Christmas Hill Park.

The annual festival was wrapping up its third and final day when the reports came in, reports NBCBayArea.
