Utah Couple Paul Nielsen & Janeth Vázquez ID’s As Victims Shot In Head By Mexican Police Thursday

GUERRERO, MX. (THECOUNT) — Utah couple, Paul Nielsen and Janeth Vázquez, have been identified as the man and wife killed in Mexico Thursday — possibly by police, local news outlets report.

Nielsen, 48 and his family were driving from Acapulco to another town early Thursday morning when they didn’t stop at a community police checkpoint, claims a report by SDP Noticias.

Local reports say at some point police fatally shot Nielsen and his wife, 43-year-old Vázquez, in the head.

Their 12-year-old son sustained gunshot wounds but is expected to survive, reports Fox13Now.

Nielsen’s family members are asking for help to bring the bodies back to the united states.

No further information was released by Mexican authorities.
