HIGH SPRINGS, FL. (THECOUNT) — Brian J. MacDonald, of Gainesville, Florida has been identified as the one of two victims in a Thursday motorcycle crash in High Springs. A female from High Springs traveling on the motorcycle as a passenger was also killed in the crash. She was not immediately identified.
MacDonald, 43, was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle near 16916 North U.S. 441 in High Springs when a Kia Spectra exited a private drive and crossed the path of the motorcycle after 8:30 p.m. Thursday night.
MacDonald was pronounced dead on the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
His passenger was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Kia, Dennis A. Castoral, 37, of High Springs, was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital with minor injuries, reports Gainesville.
Officials said charges are pending.
MacDonald and his passenger were not wearing helmets at the time of the collision, according to officials.
The female victim will be identified upon notification of family members.
The crash remains under investigation.
