LENOX TOWNSHIP, MI. (THECOUNT) — Lawton Monroe, of Clinton Township, has been identified as the victim in a fatal bicycle-verses-vehicle collision in Macomb County Thursday morning.
Monroe, 25, was struck while operating a bicycle while riding during the early morning hours in on County Line Road near 27 Mile Road, police said.
The fatal collision occurred before 5:30 a.m. Thursday after Monroe came into contact with a silver Mercury Sable. Both were traveling south on County Line Road, according to authorities.
The 28-year-old Columbus man driving the Sable called 911, according to ClickOnDetroit.
Monroe was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The driver of the Sable has been cooperative, police said.
Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
Macomb County officials are still investigating the crash.
