AR Woman Taylor Elkins Claims Was ‘Gifted For Sexual Favors’ After Found Driving Murder Victim William DuBois Vehicle

FORT SMITH, AR. (THECOUNT) — Taylor Cynthia Elkins has been identified as the Arkansas woman charged Tuesday after police found her in possession of a vehicle belonging to Fort Smith murder victim, William DuBois, Jr.

Elkins is charged with Hindering Apprehension of Prosecution and Theft by Receiving.

DuBois was found dead inside his duplex on S. Greenwood Ave in Fort Smith Thursday night, reported 4029TV.

Elkins, whose age was not provided, was found in possession of a red 2013 Ford Focus that belonged to DuBois, according to an affidavit for probable cause.

Elkins originally told law enforcement a caucasian male gifted her the car. She later changed her story saying she was given the vehicle in exchange for “sexual favors” from 72-year-old DuBois, according to the affidavit.

Neighbors called police after they said they had not seen DuBois for several days.

Susan DuBois told 40/29 News her husband taught students in Fort Smith for 30 years before retiring and 16 years later as a substitute teacher, “Bill loved teaching, he loved working with the Knights of Columbus and he loved family.”

Because of medical reasons, Susan DuBois said she and her husband lived in different houses.

Last Tuesday night was the last time she saw her husband alive.

“He called me and said, I need a little money so I can get some gas and food, and I said sure, when I get finished I’ll come over and take you to the bank, so it was late in the evening when we went,” the victim’s wife stated.
