MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI. (THECOUNT) — Joanna Marie Harrell has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle Sunday morning in Manitowoc County.
Harrell, 31, was on-foot in the area of US Highway 10 & Main Street, in Reedsville, WI, around 3:20 a.m., when Jamar Golden of Two Rivers struck her with his vehicle.
The Sheriff’s Office says the preliminary investigation shows Golden was traveling east on the highway when he struck Harrell.
Harrell was airlifted to an area hospital with life threatening injuries.
At 4:48 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office was notified that Joanna Harrell had passed away.
The Manitowoc County Coroner’s Office says the preliminary cause of death is blunt force trauma. An autopsy will be conducted Monday, reports WBAY.
Golden and his 30-year-old passenger, Brian Allen Ingram Jr., were uninjuried in the collision.
No further information was provided by officials.
Police are investigating with the Coroner’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, and State Patrol.
The investigation is ongoing.
