CLAYTON, NC. (THECOUNT) — Alanda Mae Abarca, of Smithfield, NC, has been identified as the victim in a Tuesday morning homicide in Johnston County.
Abarca, 28, was found dead Tuesday after her boyfriend, 26-year-old Enrique Lopez, led police on a high speed chase through Johnston County, North Carolina, on Monday.
Police say, Abarca was found dead at her home on South 4th Street, in Smithfield, Johnston County, NC, Tuesday morning.
Police said that Abarca was dating Lopez and that the couple had two children together.
Lopez led law enforcement officers on a chase on U.S. Business 70 on Monday. He died during the chase, in which is was shot by a trooper, reports WRAL.
Abarca’s death is being treated as a homicide, police said.
