SAN JOSE, CA. (THECOUNT) — California man, Chi Dinh Ta, has been identified as the suspect accused of gunning down four of his family members, according to San Jose police.
Ta, 66, shot four family members to death before taking his own life because he had been upset that his wife was able to obtain visas for her relatives to travel from Vietnam to the United States.
Ta reportedly contacted a friend recently and told him he was planning to kill his in-laws, who had recently arrived from Asia compliments of the aforementioned visas.
To Van Khuat claims Ta was his wife’s cousin and said the victims were “the nicest people.”
He didn’t immediately return a call seeking comment, according to KRON4.
Khuat says Ta had been seething with jealousy because he was not able to bring his own family from Vietnam.
Police have not officially identified the gunman or the victims.
