PLATTE COUNTY, NE. (THECOUNT) — Joseph Sullivan, of Columbus, Nebraska, has been identified as the victim killed in a Saturday single-vehicle crash in Platte County.
“Joey” Sullivan, 24, was traveling in a vehicle as a passenger before 7 a.m. Saturday, when the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway on 205th Avenue, in Columbus, according to the Platte County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver, Martin Gomez, Jr., was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Sullivan was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, but the incident is currently under investigation by both the Platte County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol, reports 1011Now.
