NM Seminarian Jason Paul Marshall ID’d As Victim In Sunday Double-Fatal Colorado Bus Crash

PUEBLO COUNTY, CO. (THECOUNT) — Jason Paul Marshall, seminarian of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, New Mexico, has been identified as one of two victim in Colorado crash involving a passenger bus Sunday.

Marshall was traveling on the bus carrying a group from the University of New Mexico Aquinas Newman Center back home from the Steubenville Youth Conference in Denver when the tragic crash occurred Sunday.

According to officials, the bus veered off Interstate 25, in Pueblo, Colorado and struck a bridge before coming to a rest.

Colorado State Patrol said the driver might have been suffering a medical episode at the time of the crash.

The driver was ejected from the bus.

According to a post on The Archdiocese of Santa Fe Seminarians Facebook post, Seminarian John Paul Marshall and the bus driver Anthony Padilla were involved in the tragic accident that left two people dead and injured multiple people onboard.

13 people were injured in the, 10 children and three adults. Six people injured were treated and released Sunday. Seven others remain hospitalized and at least one is in critical condition, reports KOAA.

On Wednesday, June 26 there will be a special Mass at 6 p.m. at the Aquinas Newman Center in Sante Fe, New Mexico.

“With great sorrow we have to inform everyone that Jason Paul Marshall, seminarian of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe has passed away. He was with the Youth Group that had the tragic accident in Colorado. Please pray for him and his family.

Everyone is invited to come to special Mass on Wednesday, June 26th at 6 PM at the Aquinas Newman Center.”

The crash remains under investigation and Colorado State Patrol is asking any witnesses to the crash to call 719-544-2424.
