REAMSTOWN, PA. (THECOUNT) — Evelyn Nazario has been identified as the victim killed after a Florida truck driver failed to stop for traffic in a Route 222 construction zone in Reamstown Monday morning.
Officials say the chainreaction caused a four-vehicle crash that killed 57-year-old Nazario, of Reading, and closed the highway for several hours.
Nazario was operating a Pontiac G6, the first car struck by the tractor-trailer near the East Church Street overpass near Reamstown, reports ABC27.
The tractor-trailer then collided with a Dodge van occupied by a woman and her child and a Ford F-150 pickup before leaving the roadway and striking a tree. The truck driver, a 53-year-old Florida man, was traveling with his juvenile son, police said. All five occupants of those vehicles were transported for medical treatment.
Police said any charges will be filed after consulting with the DA.
