DIX HILLS, NY. (THECOUNT) — Armindo G. Reis has been identified as the senior citizen found by his son shot to death in his affluent Dix Hills, NY, home home on Tuesday night.
According to police, Reis, 74, who lived alone at 22 Penn Drive, was found deceased of gunshot wounds after his son performed a welfare check on Tuesday.
Police say neighbors they failed to contact Reis on Tuesday and contacted his son, who arrived at the residence and discovered his father suffering from fatal gunshot injuries.
Officers were called to the scene and determined Reis had sustained at least one gunshot wound.
Reis was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant, reports LongIsland.News.
Anyone with possible information on the incident should contact police immediately at 911.
