LOUISVILLE, KY. (THECOUNT) — Brandon Briceno has been identified as the suspect arrested in the shooting death of Louisville teen Devin Swann Monday night.

Briceno, 18, was arrested and charged in the shooting and killing of 17-year-old Swann while the pair were at Victory Park Monday night, Louisville Metro Police announced Tuesday.

Police later determined that an illegal gun sale transaction went bad when shots were fired Monday at the park located at, South 23rd Street, in Louisville, KY.

According to police, three people fled the scene following the shooting.

Briceno reportedly admitted to shooting at two individuals before striking a third person, Swann, several times in the back.

Police say Briceno claimed a third person fired a gun, but investigators could not substantiate that claim.

Swann was pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
