PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL. (THECOUNT) — Haley Parkhurst, of St Louis, MO, has been identified as the victim in a fatal golf cart accident in Panama City Beach, Florida on Friday.
Parkhurst, 18, was killed after she was struck by a pickup truck while operating a golf cart along Back Beach Road early Friday morning.
The victim was driving the rental golf cart, described by PCBPD as a “low speed vehicle” eastbound along Back Beach Road at around 2 a.m. Friday morning near the Summerwood subdivision without its lights activated when it was struck by a 2013 Toyota Tundra, also traveling eastbound, as it attempted to change lanes, reports NewsHarrold.
Parkhurst was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Three passengers traveling in the cart were transported to an area hospital.
Two passengers suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to PCBPD. The condition of the third person is unknown.
The pickup driver remained on the scene and fully cooperated with police. No was in the truck was injured.
No one was cited at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
