LAS VEGAS, NV. (THECOUNT) — Alexander Brewer has been identified as the Las Vegas teen charged with impairment following a fatal crash in Summerlin early Wednesday morning.

Brewer, 19, was operating a Lincoln MKX on Preakness Pass near Churchill Downs Drive in Las Vegas, NV, when he attempted to perform a left hand turn onto Churchill Downs after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

According to Metro police, officers were dispatched to Preakness Pass and Churchill Downs Drive on reports of a traffic collision.

Police determined Brewer’s vehicle struck the driver side of a 2016 Ford Fusion operated by an 18-year-old male.

The unidentified driver of the Fusion was transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries.

He was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

Brewer was also transported to UMC, but was then released from the hospital and booked on suspicion of DUI, according to Fox5Vegas.

No other individuals were involved in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
