LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL. (THECOUNT) — Princess Davis has been identified as the victim fatally struck by a Virgin Trains USA, aka Brightline train, Saturday afternoon in Lake Worth Beach.
Davis, 31, and another female were reportedly attempting to cross the tracks while on-foot, when a passing train struck and killed Davis near the 1300 block of South Dixie Highway and 12th Avenue South at 3:19 p.m.
According to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, crews responded to reports of a person possibly struck by a train.
The investigation revealed that the train was traveling northbound on the FEC train tracks, according to WPTV.
According to the conductor, Davis and another unidentified female, attempted to cross the tracks. He sounded the warning siren numerous times, however Davis attempted to beat the train and was struck.
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene of massive blunt force trauma injuries.
